DISSOLVING FILM: How did you become interested in fashion design?
TOM WELLER: At 16 I started to work in a magazine shop, and I fell in love with fashion and photography through magazines like i-D and Dazed. I'd never seen anything like it before and I knew I wanted to be involved ever since then, although I still have so much to learn in terms of creating garments from scratch.
Where did you find the inspiration for Sullen Girl?
I think the main inspiration is my friends and seeing the different struggles my generation goes through as they grow up. The name 'Sullen Girl' comes from a song by Fiona Apple that I think represents those struggles perfectly.
