My work takes the route of abstraction to convey political and social phenomena and alludes to ideas of fluidity and transformation. I have recently endeavored upon an ongoing visual exploration of the ideas of identity, gender and expression, and how these things interconnect. I wanted to articulate something that I didn’t think could necessarily be put into words, and visually communicate the undefinable. The mini series I created expresses this— I attempted to reach into the place inside of ourselves where human beings experience the raw emotion that dreams are woven out of, and convey a sense of both familiarity and otherness.
