Dissolving Film's Collaborative September Playlist

September 30, 2018

To bring each month to a close, we, the co-creators of Dissolving Film, will each publish a playlist that is composed of our favorite songs from that month.

This month, however, we decided to reach out to you to see what music you were listening to this month. Below is the result of this endeavor.

Follow us on Spotify @dissolvingfilmmag to listen to our playlists each month!

Get organized with this dreamy calendar by simply printing it out and filling in all of your important reminders and to-dos (like going to that concert with your friends next week)!

This September we welcome a new column to Dissolving Film, but we need your help coming up with a name! We’ve already received one submission and have more coming, so if you’d like more details, look seven pictures back on our profile. We are overwhelmed by the interest you all have displayed and are very excited to get the column started (thank you so much Alessandra + Brenda for kicking off this column)!

This month we also want to try out a new type of playlist to end the month with: a collaborative playlist! All month our email is open to music suggestions and then at the end of the month we will add some of the suggestions that we really liked to the playlist!

We hope that you stick around this month because we have some incredible submissions to share with you by some amazing creatives. Thank you to everyone taking the time to read these oftentimes informal editors' letters. Sometimes they can be quickly written but we always try our best to making them meaningful and get you excited for the month to come.

We can't ever tell you all enough how much you mean to us because we could not run Dissolving Film without your support!

Love,
Zoë Bridgwater + Zoey Martinez (zb + zm)

Dissolving Film was formed with the goal of creating an all inclusive platform where people could come together as a supportive community to share their creations and find others whose creations resonate with them.

As fellow artists, we understand the value of a creative mind and all of the thought and emotion that goes into creating a piece and we are continuously stunned by the amazing support we receive each day—Dissolving Film would not exist without you. Thanks to you, Dissolving Film has grown into something larger than we imagined it would last July while we threw around the idea of creating a zine.

We want to express just how much we appreciate each and every one of you who have ever submitted to Dissolving Film and/or supported Dissolving Film by viewing others’ work, listening to one of our playlists on Spotify, or given us a follow on Instagram. Your love and encouragement of us and others’ work is why we continue to do this each month.

Love,
Zoë Bridgwater + Zoey Martinez (zb + zm)

zb and zm's Monthly Playlists

September 1, 2017

This month we are doing our monthly playlists a little differently.

We had the incredible opportunity to guest curate a playlist for Adolescent Content featuring some songs that mean a lot to us with messages under each song about why we chose them.

You can view our full feature on Adolescent Content here -- make sure you also check out all of the other amazing articles and features on their site!

Also follow us on Spotify @dissolvingfilmmag to listen to our other playlists!

We want to start this month's editors' letter off by thanking everyone who has sent us their wonderful submissions the last two months and to thank the people who have submitted for this! Without you all, we would not be what we are!

We are excited to announce that we will be featuring the amazing Project Upcoming Zine this month and possibly some art of our own!

It's really exciting to see how much Dissolving Film has grown over the past couple of months and we're looking forward to it growing even more. Thank you all for the support.

We know that going back to school can be stressful and overwhelming, but we want to remind you that it can be fun too. A new school year means new opportunities for growth and development, individually and academically. School can be as much fun as you make it out to be--have study groups with your friends, make a fun playlist to get ready to in the morning, and always take time for yourself every day. Whether that means 10 minutes or an hour, your health should be your first priority. Keep a positive mindset and that's what the world will see.

Thanks for everything you all do for us!,
Zoë Bridgwater + Zoey Martinez (zb + zm)
